Georgia Aquaculture Conference
Driving innovation, sustainability, and growth in Georgia’s aquaculture industry.
The Georgia Aquaculture Conference will take place in Athens, Georgia, on April 18, 2025. The event will bring together industry leaders, researchers, and stakeholders to discuss advancements and opportunities in sustainable aquaculture across the state.
Organized by UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant, the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, the Warnell School of Forestry & Natural Resources, the conference provides a platform to share best practices, foster innovation, and build connections that support growth in Georgia’s aquaculture industry.
The rising U.S. demand for seafood, fueled by population growth and health-conscious dietary trends, underscores the need for investing in sustainable aquaculture. Georgia contributes less than 1% to U.S. seafood production, but the state is well-positioned to lead the expansion of aquaculture with its strong agricultural industry, transportation networks, and natural resources.
By investing in sustainable aquaculture, Georgia can help bridge the supply-demand gap, reduce reliance on imports, and support environmental sustainability.

Tickets are $25. Prices will increase to $45 on March 18.
