Jones manages the Planning & Environmental Services Unit at the Carl Vinson Institute of Government and directs the Georgia Sea Grant Legal Program. She develops legal and policy guidance for local governments related to coastal resilience, environmental, land use, infrastructure and utility-related issues. Jones also conducts law and policy research and has authored several law review articles and contributes annually to the law treatise, Waters and Water Rights. She serves on the Athens-Clark County Greenway Commission and on the board of the directors for the Georgia Heirs Property Law Center.
