Todd Recicar serves as Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant’s marine operations supervisor based at the Marine Education Center and Aquarium on Skidaway Island. He captain’s the unit’s 43-foot R/V Sea Dawg and the facility’s fleet of Carolina Skiffs. He manages the boat and dock facilities, including the safety policies, crew, operation, maintenance and scheduling of programs that involve the use of the vessels.
Prior to his role at Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant, Recicar served as crew and captain on a variety of research vessels including the R/V Savannah at UGA Skidaway Institute of Oceanography, R/V Joe Ferguson and R/V Sam Gray at Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary, along with a variety of vessels within NOAA’s Office of National Marine Sanctuaries. Recicar has a bachelor’s in biological sciences from Florida State University.
