Tori Stivers
Seafood Specialist

Stivers began her job with Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant in 1987. Her duties have included promoting Georgia seafood and conducting seafood safety outreach for consumers, industry, medical and health professionals, extension agents and other audiences. As a certified seafood hazard analysis critical control point (HACCP) instructor, Stivers has supervised training in Georgia since 2010. She also developed the Georgia Seafood Directory and SafeOysters websites.

Prior to becoming a seafood specialist, her first job after college was working for a dairy supply company in St. Louis, Missouri. She received her bachelor and master’s in agriculture from UGA. She works from her home in Peachtree City and regularly enjoys running on the city’s many miles of golf cart paths. Stivers has a gay son and serves as president for PFLAG Peachtree City, a non-profit that advocates acceptance and equality for LGBTQ+ people.

Stivers received the Walter Barnard Hill Award for distinguished achievement in public service and outreach in 2018 and became a Fellow of the International Association for Food Protection in 2019.
