After School at the Aquarium: Fish Tales

October 8, 2020, 4:00 pm - 4:45 pm

| $5

Have you ever wanted to hear the story behind how fish arrive at the UGA Aquarium? Join aquarium curator Lisa Kovalanchik for a behind-the-scenes program to learn about fish and what makes them special, as well as information about individual fish in our aquarium collection. Virtually meet the venomous lionfish, curious triggerfish and adorable baby skates and hear the tales of how they came to live at the aquarium and how we care for them. You will then be invited to write your own fish tale. Bring a piece of paper, something to write with and your storytelling imagination.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the event. Contact Kayla Clark at kayla270@uga.edu with questions.

Every Thursday from October 1 until November 19, marine educators at the UGA Aquarium will host virtual after-school programs designed to inspire wonder and curiosity about the Georgia coast by featuring various activities and animals. These After School at the Aquarium programs will include a mix of art, nature journaling, science demonstrations and virtual animal encounters that provide exciting learning experiences for participants. Children of all ages are welcome, but activities are designed for children ages 6-12  with an accompanying adult.
