Did you know the scientific name for blue crab, Callinectes sapidus, means “savory beautiful swimmer”? Join us for a family-friendly crabbing event at the UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant Office in Brunswick. The program begins indoors, where participants will learn about blue crab biology and their role in seafood. We’ll then caravan to the Sidney Lanier Park Boat Ramp for a catch-and-release crabbing lesson. Crab nets and bait provided.
Registration is required. Children ages 5 and up are welcome but must be accompanied by a registered adult. Tickets are non-refundable.
