Establishing Resilient Coastal Landscapes with Salt Tolerant Plants

Learn to use native salt tolerant plants to improve the resiliency of coastal landscapes at this workshop led by Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant and the Odum School of Ecology. Rachel Smith, a PhD candidate in the Odum School of Ecology at the University of Georgia, will speak about coastal hazards and the ecology of native salt tolerant plant communities in Georgia’s lower coastal plain. Keren Giovengo, EcoScapes Program Manager, will highlight best practices for implementing siteappropriate, native salt tolerant plantings in coastal landscapes by providing guidance on site analysis, plant selection, landscape design, plant purchasing, and plant care and maintenance.
