Join Sea Grant-funded researcher Zach Gordon and his colleagues from Georgia Southern’s Freshwater Ecology Lab for an in-depth exploration of wetlands, the organisms that inhabit them, and the impacts of saltwater intrusion. This program begins at the UGA Marine Education Center and Aquarium on Skidaway Island, where Zach will present his work as a Sea Grant Research Trainee.
We’ll then head out to a wetland habitat on the Skidaway Campus for some hands-on field work, using various instruments and field techniques to assess water quality and survey the amphibians and macroinvertebrates that inhabit these vital ecosystems. Van transportation will be provided to wetlands sites.
Registration is required and includes admission to the UGA Aquarium. While this program was created with adults and young adults in mind, children ages 13 and up are welcome but must be accompanied by a registered adult. Tickets are non-refundable.
