Join us in celebrating World Migratory Bird Day! Every spring and fall shorebirds migrate through and to the Georgia coast to reach their breeding or feeding grounds. In this interactive webinar, participants will learn how to identify a few of these charismatic feathered visitors as well as how Georgia’s coast plays a role in their incredible migration stories.
Participants will hear from researchers with the international shorebird survey and learn tips for how humans can share the beach with shorebirds while exploring the coast, including how to find Coastal Awareness and Responsible Ecotourism (C.A.R.E.) certified tour guides.
Presenters include Sergio Sabat-Bonilla, a Georgia Sea Grant State Fellow working with Georgia Audobon and the Jekyll Island Authority, Abby Sterling with Manomet, and Katie Higgins, Marine Educator and Volunteer Coordinator for UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant.
This virtual program is free and open to the public but pre-registration is required.
