SUMMARY:Bloomwatch Tybee: Monitoring Plants and Pollinators
DESCRIPTION:Register\n\n\n\n\nJoin Sea Grant–funded researchers from Georgia Southern University for an engaging exploration of Tybee Island. Learn about plants and pollinators\, the role of native bees in coastal ecosystems\, and how climate and human activity influence these vital ecosystem processes.   \n\n\n\nThe program begins at Jaycee Park (adjacent to Tybee Island Guard House)\, where researchers will introduce plant–pollinator relationships with live and preserved specimens. Participants will then explore the island’s native and landscaped plants through guided\, field-based learning. Using a variety of field research techniques and the iNaturalist mobile app\, participants will observe Tybee’s plants and learn how to monitor their responses to human activity.   \n\n\n\nThis beginner-friendly program is designed for participants ages 15 and up\, with no prior experience needed. The program is free\, but registration is required to hold your spot. All ages are welcome\, but children under 18 must be accompanied by a registered adult.  \n\n\n\nQuestions? SUMMARY:Coastal Crafting
DESCRIPTION:On Thursday mornings in June and July\, we’ll have arts and crafts time at the UGA Aquarium! Education staff will share a new craft each week featuring coastal animals\, plants and history. Crafts might include origami whales\, paper sea turtles\, plant pressings or oyster shell creations. Coastal Crafting programs will take place at our outdoor covered pavilion\, which sits adjacent to the aquarium on the bluff.    \n\n\n\nAll ages are welcome\, but children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.  \n\n\n\nCoastal Crafting programs are included in the cost of admission to the UGA Aquarium. Registration is not required\, but please visit the front desk to purchase an aquarium ticket before heading to the pavilion. SUMMARY:Coastal Reptiles
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHave you ever wondered what loggerhead sea turtles eat? Why snakes flick their tongues? If lizards have ears? Learn the answers to these questions and more during our coastal reptiles program.   \n\n\n\nAquarium educators will explain the importance of native reptiles inhabiting our diverse coastal habitats. Participants will enjoy a live reptile demonstration\, interacting with snakes or turtles that serve as ambassador animals for education and conservation.   \n\n\n\nRegistration is required and includes admission to the UGA Aquarium.
