Learn about alligator biology\, unique adaptations\, and their vital role in coastal ecosystems. Hoog\, a Ph.D. candidate at Georgia Southern University\, is collaborating with Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant’s Coastal Ecology Lab to study alligator populations in the Okefenokee Swamp. \n\n\n\nDiscover the latest research findings\, gain insights on safely coexisting with these incredible reptiles\, and don’t miss the highlight of the program—an up-close encounter with a live alligator ambassador! \n\n\n\nRegistration is required. Content is best suited for children ages 10 and up\, but all ages are welcome. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a registered adult. The event will take place on Saturday\, Nov. 21\, from 1-4 p.m. on the bluff next to the UGA Aquarium on Skidaway Island\, Georgia. Guests will enjoy live music and can eat locally harvested Georgia oysters. Registration coming soon!

SUMMARY:Behind-the-Scenes Aquarium Tours
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEver wondered what goes on behind the scenes at the UGA Aquarium? You’re in luck! Spend the afternoon exploring our exhibits before learning what it’s like to care for our ambassador animals during tours led by aquarium staff. Participants will gain access to areas not typically open to the public. Animal feeding might also be part of the tour.     \n\n\n\nRegistration is required for all participants ages 3 and up and includes admission to the UGA Aquarium. All ages are welcome\, but children under 18 must be accompanied by a registered adult. Strollers are not permitted in the back of the aquarium but can be stored in the lobby during the program. Tickets are non-refundable. Behind-the-scenes tours are offered every Wednesday in June and July.  \n\n\n\nQuestions? Contact Cindy Lingebach at calingeb@uga.edu or call 912-598-2344
