Give

Give to UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant.

pagebodyhalf_giving1Your gifts to UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant support marine education, environmental outreach and coastal research. For more than 50 years, we have taught hundreds of thousands of people about our state’s unique coastal and marine ecosystems. We also work hand-in-hand with local governments and coastal industries to help build sustainable, resilient coastal communities and economies. Your gift today will help protect Georgia’s coastal resources and educate future generations in ocean literacy and environmental leadership.

Giving priorities

pagebodyhalf_giving2Aquarium expansion
We are expanding the UGA Aquarium! We have launched a major fundraising campaign to enlarge our building allowing for a new exhibit space dedicated to maritime forests, reptiles and amphibians. New displays will feature creatures native to coastal Georgia and are guaranteed to be a favorite among children and visitors.

UGA Oyster Hatchery
The UGA Oyster Hatchery will help establish an oyster aquaculture industry in Georgia, allowing harvesters to farm single oysters that can be sold on the half-shell. Your support will help us restore Georgia’s oyster industry and help create jobs throughout Georgia’s coastal region.

Supporting Student Work
Service Learning at Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant means “learning by doing” and connecting college students with opportunities to put their knowledge into practice in real settings. Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant serves hundreds of communities throughout Georgia, and opportunities abound for students to work alongside staff and faculty who are helping create jobs, develop leaders and address the state’s critical challenges. Your support will enable them to travel with faculty and staff into the communities we serve so that they can see firsthand the need, issue or problem, build the critical skills essential to their careers, and earn valuable real-world experience.
