Hands-on First Aid and CPR Training

This CPR and First Aid Course is tailored to provide commercial fishermen with the life-saving skills to assess and treat injured and sick crew members onboard fishing vessels before emergency personnel arrive. Lunch will be provided.

Practical skills you will learn:

  • Patient assessment
  • CPR/AED and cardiac event management Narcan use
  • Medevac procedures
  • Assessing traumatic injuries
  • Heat illness treatment
  • Infection prevention and proper wound care
  • Marine bites, spines and stings
  • Splinting
  • Stop the Bleed measures
  • Treatment for common medical emergencies
  • Nutrition and hydration

Commercial fishermen who complete this training will earn certification in Adult First Aid/CPR/AED and receive a free first-aid kit customized for fishing vessels. (Meets U.S. Coast Guard requirements under 46 CFR 28.210. First-aid kits are limited to one per vessel.)
