UGA Marine Education Center and Aquarium

Home to Georgia’s first saltwater aquarium, the facility features 16 exhibit tanks that showcase a variety of Georgia’s marine life. Marine educators at the aquarium provide hands-on environmental education programs to the public, school groups and families.

The facility features an auditorium, two teaching laboratories, an art lab and a nature trail. There is also a dormitory and cafeteria on site to house and feed out-of-town education groups. The R/V Sea Dawg is docked on location as well as a small fleet of Carolina skiffs. The facility hosts school groups from across the state and beyond throughout the year. Information for schools or organizations interested in scheduling a visit is available here.
