The UGA Marine Education Center and Aquarium is located on Skidaway Island, less than 30 minutes from downtown Savannah. Home to Georgia’s first saltwater aquarium, it features 16 exhibit tanks that showcase a variety of Georgia’s marine life.

Skidaway Marine Science Day

Explore marine science at Skidaway Marine Science Day, a free, family-friendly event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, at the UGA Skidaway Marine Science Campus! This annual event brings science to life through hands-on experiences and behind-the-scenes activities. The UGA Aquarium will be open with free admission, featuring behind-the-scenes tours, live reptile encounters, lab demonstrations, and more.
