During this free training at Bryan Commons Park in Hinesville, Georgia, participants will learn about coastal water quality issues and become certified to be part of a multi-state monitoring group of environmental stewards. The event will include a presentation, a short test, and a demonstration of monitoring protocols. Workshop activities will involve hands-on training on how to collect water quality data such as temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH and salinity. The Adopt-A-Wetland program is designed to increase public awareness of water quality issues, train citizens to monitor and protect wetlands and collect baseline wetland health data.
