Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant will participate in the 2018 Brunswick Blessing of the Festival on Friday, May 11, from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday, May 12, from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. at Mary Ross Park. Faculty and staff will be educating festival goers about Georgia’s shrimping industry and native marine life. Participants will have the opportunity to hold horseshoe crabs, view animals in the Sea Circus, a mobile aquarium, and view models of turtle excluder devices. The R/V Georgia Bulldog will serve as the blessing platform for the actual blessing of the local shrimp fleet, which starts at 2 p.m.
