Earth Day Savannah is an annual community celebration dedicated to environmental sustainability and conservation in the Coastal Empire. Each year, individuals, nonprofits, businesses, and local leaders come together to share ideas, resources, and actions that help protect our planet and promote more sustainable ways of living.
Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant educators will host a table all about marine debris prevention. Visitors will be able to look at microplastics under a microscope, learn about what types of marine debris are common along the coast, test their knowledge on how long different types of trash takes to break down and find out how to stop the introduction of marine debris into the ocean.
