Georgia’s coastal plant communities are impacted by various coastal hazards, including salt spray, storm surge, flooding, sea level rise and drought. Because they are adapted to the distinct environments of Georgia’s coast, these salt–tolerant native plants can be used in coastal landscapes to improve natural resiliency to these hazards and restore the ecological function, health and value of our local ecosystems. During this virtual event, our EcoScapes Sustainable Land Use Program Manager Keren Giovengo will provide information on native salt-tolerant plant ecology, coastal hazards and guidance on landscape plantings.
