Just in time for the holidays, your family can become a founding member of our new Friends of the UGA Aquarium program. The UGA Aquarium welcomes over 25,000 people each year for hands-on, feet-in marine education experiences. Your support will help educate thousands of children and adults in ocean literacy and environmental leadership.
Visit us on Skidaway Island, near Savannah, to meet Rider the loggerhead sea turtle and learn more about our programs. In addition to touch tanks and close-up encounters with marine creatures, aquarium guests can wander outside through the Skidaway Learning Garden or along the Jay Wolf Nature Trail.
You can even participate in visits to nearby barrier islands, trawling trips aboard the R/V Sea Dawg or help gather data in citizen science projects. Our marine science summer camps provide intimate interactions with the coastal environment. Campers fish, crab and trawl for marine life, hike through maritime forests and explore beautiful barrier islands.
Become a founding Friend of the UGA Aquarium today to get involved in our efforts. All Friends of the UGA Aquarium will be recognized annually within the aquarium, receive UGA Marine Extension’s e-newsletter, a Friends aquarium pass and invitations to special events throughout the year.
