Georgia Sea Grant is seeking applications from graduate students for three fellowships: The Coastal Management Fellowship, the National Marine Fisheries-Sea Grant Joint Fellowship and the Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship. These fellowships are designed for students who are interested in gaining professional development through work with coastal resource management and conservation, marine ecosystems and population dynamics or national marine policy issues.
Coastal Management Fellowship
The 2020-2022 Coastal Management Fellowship places recent graduate students in state coastal management programs. Fellows will receive on-the-job education and training opportunities while working on projects proposed by state agencies and selected by the fellowship sponsor, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Office for Coastal Management. The fellowship period begins on Aug. 3, 2020.

National Marine Fisheries- Sea Grant Joint Fellowship
This fellowship is for PhD students interested in careers related to (1) population and ecosystem dynamics, with a focus on modeling and managing systems of living marine resources, or (2) economics of the conservation and management of living marine resources. Students will gain direct experiences working on these issues of public interest and relevance to NOAA’s National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) under the guidance of NMFS experts.

Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship
The Knauss Fellowship program matches graduate students with “hosts” such as congressional offices, Federal agency offices such as NOAA, EPA, or DOD, the National Marine Fisheries Service or U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Over the one-year fellowship in Washington, D.C., students will gain unique educational experience in the policies and processes of the federal government related to ocean, coastal and Great Lakes resources. The fellowship period begins Feb. 1, 2021 and ends Jan. 31, 2022.
