The University of Georgia Marine Education Center and Aquarium on Skidaway Island will open online registration for all 2016 summer camp sessions starting Feb. 15, 2016. Please note that the registration process has changed this year. Sessions will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, with no registrations taken by phone or in person.
Our Summer Marine Science Camp sessions emphasize marine science and coastal ecology while nurturing the curiosity and stewardship potential in each child. Sessions are available for children ages 6 – 15, with each camp session focusing on hands-on, feet-in lab and field activities appropriate for each age group. Campers will explore coastal habitats in small teams, lead by professional teaching staff. Information on dates, hours and cost can be found on the UGA Marine Extension website.
If the session for which you wish to register your child becomes full, we do offer a short waiting list.
To place your camper’s name on a waitlist, please email fish@uga.edu with your name, your camper’s name and date of birth and the camp session in which you are interested. If space opens up, you will be contacted via email and asked to complete a time-sensitive online registration.
The UGA Marine Education Center and Aquarium, part of Marine Extension in the Office of Public Service and Outreach, serves over 45,000 people annually through student field trips, teacher workshops, summer marine science camps, academic internships, public programs, community outreach events and coastal exhibits.
